A group of 70 students from a prominent private school in Haridwar have been accused of causing widespread chaos in the BHEL residential area in Ranipur following a farewell party on Saturday evening. A video of the incident, which quickly went viral on social media, shows the group gathering near the BHEL stadium before forming a convoy of vehicles. The students created a disturbance by leaning out of car windows, standing on moving cars, and even firing into the air. The group also engaged in dangerous stunts, including speeding and driving erratically in SUVs, which are typically prohibited in the area due to its status as a VIP zone.

Following the incident, Haridwar police took swift action, registering a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). Kamal Mohan Singh Bhandari, Station House Officer (SHO) of Ranipur, confirmed that the police had launched an investigation to identify the individuals involved. “Around 70 students caused a disturbance, and one of them fired a gun. They were also driving SUVs, which is against the rules for that area,” Bhandari told TOI.

Police are working to identify the students based on the viral videos, and authorities have promised that all vehicles involved will be seized. The action will also be taken against the hotel owner where the farewell party was held, as the event was reportedly not properly monitored.

The students involved in the incident are from a local private school. The school’s administrationslotbet, while condemning the actions of the students, clarified that it had no role in organizing the farewell party and that they were not responsible for the event outside of school hours.
